OUR ENGINEERING TEAM

We are creative problem-solvers, who take great pride in our work. CORE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Parametric solid modeling using both SolidWorks and Creo
  • Extensive knowledge in CAD environment, specifically in the context of product development
  • Experience in solids, surfacing, assemblies and DFMA
  • Design methodologies, including skeleton/master models 
  • Advanced 2D Drawings and GD&T
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes and necessary design requirements, including: injection molding, thermoforming, blow molding, metal fabrication, casting, and extrusions
  • Experience in developing medical devices, including developing and executing verification and validation plans and reports.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Familiarity with shop tools and ability to build mechanical and electrical breadboard and looks-like/works-like prototypes
  • Component and process sourcing 
  • Vendor/supplier communication and coordination
  • Ability to conduct advanced technical research and interpret data
  • Ability to assign basic tasks to team members, complete tasks assigned by Project Manager
  • Ability to manage intern work
  • Ability to brainstorm and sketch concepts
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to solve problems independently and manage workload of multiple projects
  • Engineering document generation, including product specifications, bill of materials, and test plans
  • Ability to support and lead client interactions
  • Ability to create project proposals that outline scope of supply, time and cost estimates, and assumptions
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to contribute to Design Central initiatives and internal projects
  • Support of various components of Design Central business as-needed, cross-disciplinary support
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • BS Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5+ years of industry experience, preferably in full-cycle product development 
  • Experience in project management that includes tracking to time and cost targets, as well as, client management
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficient in SolidWorks 3D modeling software
  • Experience in surfacing, FEA, PDM, kinematics, and parametric design methodology
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including the use of Microsoft Project
  • Familiar with prototyping code language, software, and hardware – Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc. 
  • Familiar with rapid prototyping methods and software – SLA, FDM, SLS
